We start here in Salzburg with a statue of St. Vergilius, an 8th century Irish saint who believed the world was round and then travel out to terra incognita<\/em> in a leather boat with another Irish saint, St. Brendan the Navigator. \u00a0It is the Voyage of St. Brendan, <\/em>a popular medieval\u00a0religious narrative, that we focus on and explore how different readings of this text produce different geographical imaginations. \u00a0Contributors include Dr. Paul Pearson of the\u00a0The Thomas Merton Center at Bellarmine University<\/a>, Dr. Clara Strijbosch<\/a> of Utrecht University and Jon Mackley<\/a>\u00a0from the University of Northampton.<\/p>\n
